Goliad Review is currently not accepting submissions for our upcoming issue
Goliad Review is a biannual literary journal publishing the best in contemporary fiction, poetry, and essays from America and abroad. Goliad Review’s platform is distinct because it does not rely on a university or any other public institution for funding, therefore, its editors are free to publish work of only the highest artistic merit without fear of retaliation from the status quo.
Poetry: Up to five poems. All types and length.
Fiction: 2,000–8,000 words. We are not interested in genre fiction (such as western, romance, science fiction, or fantasy).
Nonfiction: Length is 2,000–9,000 words. We publish literary, art, and cultural criticism.
We only consider unpublished work. Please do not submit previously published material, including work published in anthologies, chapbooks, or online.
Submissions are limited to one prose piece and five poems per reading period. Please group poetry into one submission. Multiple submissions in the same genre will not be considered.
Simultaneous submissions are permitted.
If work you have submitted to us is accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately. To withdraw a work please email firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate your name, date of submission, submission title. Include “Submission Withdraw” in the subject line.

Due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot respond personally to every submission.
